- Our Story
About The Grief Center
Nashville’s grief ecosystem — normalizing grief in a grief-avoidant society through therapy, education, supervision, and community care.
Who We Are
More Than a Therapy Practice
The Grief Center was founded on a simple but powerful belief: grief is a natural response to loss, not something to “get over.” In a society that often avoids, minimizes, or rushes through grief, we created a restorative space where loss is honored, healing is supported, and every person’s experience is validated.
What began as a vision for grief-informed therapy has grown into a comprehensive ecosystem of care — spanning individual therapy, couples counseling, grief support groups, clinical supervision, professional training, and community education. The Grief Center is not just a practice. It is a platform for changing the way our society understands and responds to grief.
Based in Nashville, Tennessee, we serve individuals, families, clinicians, and organizations — locally and beyond. Everywhere you go, your grief goes. And wherever you are, we are here to walk with you.
What Drives Us
Our Mission & Values
Normalize Grief
We believe grief belongs in the open — not hidden, rushed, or pathologized. Our mission is to create spaces where grief is treated as a natural, valid part of the human experience.
Accessible, Compassionate Care
Cost, stigma, and access should never stand between someone and the support they need. We work to make grief-informed care available to everyone who needs it.
Equip the Next Generation
Through clinical supervision, CE trainings, and consultation, we invest in developing grief-informed clinicians and organizations that carry this work forward.
Why The Grief Center
A Grief Ecosystem, Not Just a Practice
01
Grief-First Focus
While many practices treat grief as one of many specialties, it is our entire mission. Every service, program, and training we offer is built around grief-informed care.
02
Holistic Ecosystem
From individual therapy to community education, clinical supervision to podcast conversations — we support the full spectrum of grief through interconnected services.
03
Culturally Responsive
Grief looks different for everyone. Our approach honors the cultural, spiritual, and personal dimensions of each person’s experience with loss.
04
Community-Centered
We believe healing happens in connection. Through grief groups, public education, and our podcast, we build community around shared experience.
